Diane and Drake’s story begins on a Thursday in the spring of 2017. Both were students at Cal State University, Northridge and worked for the University Student Union. Drake worked in the Events department while Diane worked in Marketing.

Drake produced an event called “Noontime Concerts” which happened every Thursday at noon. Another Marketing Assistant was assigned to do social media for this event, but she had a conflicting schedule that semester, so she asked Diane to step in and cover for her.

Each week, Diane and Drake looked forward to seeing each other on Thursdays. After a few weeks of friendly banter, they exchanged numbers and started texting. Their conversations continued to grow. However after a few dates, Diane was hesitant to jump into anything serious due to perceived differences and attempted to friend-zone Drake. She knew she had feelings for him, but was unsure if things between them would work.

Fast forward a few weeks, Drake asks Diane to go get pizza with him and talk things through. After a long heartfelt conversation, Diane realized that perhaps they weren’t so different after all and decided to take a leap of faith. From that moment on, their strong connection blossomed into a beautiful relationship full of love, laughter, and countless adventures together.

Today, eight years later, Diane and Drake (& their fur baby Delilah) could not be happier to be celebrating their love with the ones they love!
